The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Soldiers Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.

The traitor then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the companion and best friend, desires revenge.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:

  • Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by the family.

This means them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can anticipate learning which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
