Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
